Packed Up For A Palm Springs Overnighter w/ BJ Panda Bear
BJ Panda Bear is incredibly talented, kind, thoughtful, and creative. He's an editor and consultant, and also the co-founder of QooA.Space, a platform enriched with a collection of curated brands and products, an editorial space, and so much more. He's busy and on-the-go but given the chaos these last few months, BJ needed a day trip (turned overnighter) to Palm Springs. He reminds us to pack your favorite duffel bag, take the time to slow down, and get away—a form of self-care we all need.

Fave CALPAK PRODUCT:
If you could be anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?:
Anywhere that will have me. The lock down has really jumpstarted a desire to explore and appreciate the local getaways and staycations. I love a Palm Springs or Santa Barbara runaway.
3 Things you never forget to pack:
External charger, extra t-shirts, and extra fun underwear—you never know when you might end up in a pool situation late at night at some mansion!
Last meal on Earth:
Din Tai Fung Dumplings, a veggie burrito, a chicken taco from Taco Zone, raw oysters, sashimi boat, extra garlicky noodles, and ice cream
I am really good at using a spread sheet…like really really good
Favorite music genre:
OMG depending on the mood, I love an experimental, depressed, pretty girl moment like Okay Kaya and Sevdaliza
Your hype song:
Too many—currently anything from Shygirl, LSDXOXO, or maybe some Boyharsher
CURRENTLY LEARNING/READING ABOUT:
Been deeply soaking up the biography on LouLou De La Falaise with the book, Loulou & Yves: The Untold Story of Loulou de La Falaise and the House of Saint Laurent. I also loved the Pat Cleveland biography and anything Patti Smith. Anything about fashion in the 70's and 80's...Antonio, Andy!
EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW:
How to pack for necessity with extravagant results. Also, knowing which fabrics can be packed and worn without wrinkling.
Favorite travel memory:
My first time in Paris alone staying in a shit hotel
What kind of packer are you?:
I am an over packer and not that organized. Just always double the underwear, socks, and top-ratio to your days, make sure they can be wrinkly, always have an extra few pairs of shoes that don’t look the same (you never know what might happen), bring a solid multi-weather jacket, and overdose on packing up the skincare.
